Forbes has announced its first ever 30 under 30 in Europe list, profiling up and coming leaders in business, technology, finance, media, culture and more from across the continent.
The Memo is proud to have taken part in the judging for the inaugural 30 under 30 in European Media category which included winners from Buzzfeed, The Sun, SBTV and Summly.
Judges for the media category included CNN Correspondent and Anchor Hala Gorani, Sueddeutsche Zeitung National Politics Managing Editor Heribert Prantl and The Memo Editor in Chief Alex Wood.
Our picks included some of the shining lights of Europe’s media scene.

Buzzfeed Special Correspondent James Ball has achieved numerous exclusive stories that have gone on to become world news including investigations into tax avoidance and leaks at the NSA. Ball also reported from the inside at Wikileaks, during a period spent with Julian Assange.

Jamal Edwards MBE is founder of SBTV, one of Youtube’s most successful channels for upcoming music talent with a young audience that rivals mainstream broadcasters. Edwards is widely credited for discovering musician Ed Sheeran and was awarded an MBE in 2015.
Investigative Journalist Lyra McKee is perhaps Europe’s best kept secret. She has campaigned tirelessly for the truth behind some of the biggest scandals in Northern Ireland’s recent history.
For the past 2 years McKee has researched the suspicious circumstances that led to the death of politician Robert Bradford. Over 200 people have backed her to continue the investigation independently and do the story the justice it deserves.
